Training Log

Here is a quick look at what my training log might look like:

So far, I've used gmaps for calculating route distances. They are bookmarkable so you can easily refer back to the same route.

There are more commercial sites, but this one works for me
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

Map your bike route and calculate distance. Save and put the link in a log.

A 90-day commitment to health

I'm beginning a complete commitment to health - focusing on the fundamentals:

  • eat right
  • drink plenty of water
  • go to bed on time
  • exercise routinely

We all know the fundamentals. What I'm learning for the first time is how heart rate monitoring can be an effective tool in measuring your current health, your progress toward improved health and your exercise intensity. I'm pretty relaxed here at the keyboard.... my pulse is 48 bpm.

Life Lesson #15363

Don't get in a wrestling match
on the kitchen floor
with your seven-yr-old
after your friends
and the white dog visited
wearing black plastic fleece

Or, actually you should
and have fun tickling
those memories
last longer than
the time to pick lint
or learn to like dog-hair

Imagineering

Imagineering Now that Barack Obama has been elected to the White House, I can breathe a giant sigh of relief. I feel true optimism and hope for this country, and our children.

Skeletons in the closet

So, Gabe's Halloween costume this year is a skeleton, drawn in white dimensional fabric paint [1] on black clothing. It's coming out great. Wikipedia supplies the artistic inspiration for the authentic skeletal design.

Patriots Game Day Lunch

When you're going to make a full day out of going to a Patriots Football game, you might want to let someone else do the cooking instead of trying to play with fire in the parking lot.

I was surprised that Google's map didn't show much information when searching for places to eat in the vicinity, so I created a map of places to eat around Gillette Stadium.
